Coaches and Athletic Directors gathered with representatives of Graber Post Buildings, Inc., Thursday, April 23rd, to conduct the blind draw for the 4th annual Graber Post Buildings Classic. The draw came at the conclusion of a tournament meeting and luncheon at the Gasthof Restaurant near Montgomery, Indiana.
First round matchups in this year’s field will feature defending champion South Knox taking on this year’s Class 2A state runner-up, Brownstown Central, 1A Semi-State Runner up and host school North Daviess playing Springs Valley, perennial 1A power Barr-Reeve squaring off with perennial 2A powerhouse Forest Park, and Washington Catholic opening up with Cloverdale.
First round games will be played on Monday, December 28th, with second round and Championship round games scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, December 29th and 30th. Each of the 8 teams will play 3 games in 3 days, with game times scheduled each day at 3pm, 4:30, 6pm, and 7:30, Eastern time. All games will be played again this year at North Daviess High School, located near Odon and Elnora, Indiana.
Next year’s field of 8 sports 3 Sectional Championships, 2 Regional Champions, and 1 Semi-State title. 2 other teams were state ranked in their respective classes all season.
Tournament Director and Vice President of Operations at Graber Post Buildings, Jonathan Graber, said his company is “once again very excited about this year’s field. It’s going to be difficult to top the excitement of last year’s tournament, but the quality of our teams just keeps getting stronger and stronger every year. We’ve had 3 fantastic tournaments and we expect this year’s Classic will continue to grow”.
The Graber Post Classic has quickly become a premiere High School Basketball event in Southern Indiana.
